Catherine Rhead

RDH RDT 2006 Sheffield

GDC No. 103661

Catherine qualified as a Dental Therapist in 2006 at the University of Sheffield. Previously, Catherine worked for 10 years as a Dental Nurse at the city’s Charles Clifford Dental Hospital and was invited to continue employment as a Therapist on gaining her further qualifications.

A total of 24 years at Charles Clifford has given Catherine experience of helping patients who are among the most medically compromised and dentally anxious. Of great importance throughout has been the need to offer empathy and kindness to each individual in addition to ensuring a high level of technical competence for every patient. As well as working closely with consultants from maxillofacial and special care dentistry, Catherine’s roles involve clinical teaching and lecturing duties to undergraduate students.

Catherine has also worked in NHS and private dental practices since 2006 and prior to joining Ferndale enjoyed a 16-year period working within a specialist practice to help with the education and treatment of gum disease. Private clinical practice has also brought an appreciation of detail and precision and the knowledge that small things can really count.

Catherine likes that her role builds enduring clinical relationships and has found it very rewarding to see, and be able to care for, returning patients over many years.

Outside working hours, she is busy planning the renovation of her house and likes to practice yoga and run in the Derbyshire countryside.
